2023 Master Plan Update
On December 20th, 2023, the Board of Directors unanimously (5-0) approved the 2023 Master Plan Update.
The 2023 Master Plan Update is a strategic document that studies the existing park system, facilities and recreation programming, and identifies a planning blueprint to improve, protect and expand the Districts network of parks, facilities and recreational services for the future.
2023 Master Plan UpdatePreparation of the master plan update involved extensive community outreach, consisting of numerous meetings, surveys, written input.
The Public Review period was open from August 16th- October 18th, 2023.
2023 Master Plan Update DRAFTThe District boundaries extend east-west from the Trinity Divide to near the summit of Mount Shasta, and north-south from Black Butte to Dunsmuir, encompassing 142 square miles (91,000 acres). The City of Mount Shasta, encompassing 4 square miles (2,400 acres) sits squarely in the middle of the District.
